PUBG SUPER Leaderboard

FAQ

What is this?

This is a simple leaderboard tool for PUBG that calculcates points by PUBG Esports rules (SUPER Ruleset) for the regular, public matches you and I play.

How does it work?

The app fetches match data via the PUBG API and calculates the points for each roster in a match. The last 30 matches played by a roster are then summed up and the rosters ranked be the points are tie breakers in the leaderboard.

How are the points calculated?

The points are calculated by the PUBG Esports rules (SUPER Ruleset). You get one point for each kill and then points for your teams placement (10 pts. for 1st, 6 pts. for 2ns, 5 pts. for 3rd, etc. - see the following table). There is one difference: if you would down a player in Esports and the player is then killed by the blue zone, you don't get the kill, the blue zone steals the kill. In public/normal matches you get the kill, so they are counted.

Rank Placement Points
1 10
2 6
3 5
4 4
5 3
6 2
7 1
8 1

What are rosters?

Each combination of players that playes a match is a roster. For example, if you play with the same 4 players every time, you have 1 roster. If you play with 3 different players every time, you have 3 rosters. This works super-well for solo and duo game modes, but is a bit problematic for squad games, because every time you have a new player (for example if you are 3 premades and have one random player each time) you have a new roster. Maybe a better solution will present itself later on.

What is the difference between a roster and a player?

A player is basically a PUBG account. A player can then be on a lot of rosters. If you look up a player, all rosters this app has seen for the player are listed with matches played and the current rank on the respective leaderboard (if applicable). Rosters are ranked as soon as they have played 15 matches together.

What matches are taken into account?

The last 30 official FPP matches a roster played are taken into account. Official means that custom games are not included. Both ranked and public matches are counted. "Illegal" rosters are ignored (there are actually games where a team has more players that allowed, for example 5 players in an official Squad game). Bot kills are counted, because figuring out which kills are bots while theoretically possible would be a lot more data crunching.

Why 30 matches?

30 matches should be enough to even out some of the randomness, but is still enough that most rosters can play that many. It approximates the number of matches in tournaments.

Why not TPP matches?

To be honest, I just don't like TPP and feel like it has no place in such a leaderboard, sorry 😉

When is the leaderboard updated?

The app tries to fetch as much matches as possible from the players already on the leaderboards in the background. With the current API limits it can download all matche data from 50 players each minute in the background. If you want to check your own scores, please search for your username and click "Refresh" for the newest matches to be imported. Because our API access is pretty limited in terms of requests per minute, we fetch new matches only every hour, even if you click refresh. I might change that if possible.

What about cheaters?

That's a good question, actually. I don't know, yet.

Why?

This is just a "because I wanted to" thing. It's and/or me are not affiliated with PUBG in any way. I was a huge fan of PUBG solo ranked, but matchmaking was no longer healthy in the last season.
